Position: Site Manager (Retrofit)

Location: Hemel Heampstead 

Salary: £50,000 – £55,000 plus van and fuel card 

Build recruitment are recruiting on behalf of a national contractor who dedicated to delivering exceptional service across a diverse range of projects and programs. As Site Manager, you will play a pivotal role in upholding these standards while representing our company to clients and residents alike.

As Site Manager, you will oversee the execution of various projects and programs across our contracts, ensuring adherence to timelines, budgets, and quality standards. Acting as the primary point of contact for clients and residents, you will facilitate effective communication and maintain strong relationships. Your responsibilities will encompass project supervision, compliance with regulations, fostering resident engagement, and representing the company professionally at all times.

Core Responsibilities:

  • Supervise and manage onsite retrofit projects, ensuring efficient delivery within budget and timeframe.
  • Collaborate closely with contractors and suppliers to maintain project quality and cost-effectiveness.
  • Ensure all work aligns with the program of works and complies with health and safety standards.
  • Oversee the installation of energy-efficient measures, ensuring sustainability standards are met.
  • Manage retrofit works and adhere to Building Control regulations and statutory requirements.
  • Attend internal and client meetings, providing professional representation and updates.
  • Maintain accurate program performance records and utilize ICT systems proficiently.
  • Adapt and collaborate across departments to support team objectives.
  • Involve residents in the process, ensuring awareness and satisfaction.
  • Develop positive relationships with residents, subcontractors, clients, and authorities.
  • Act as the face of [Company Name], promoting positive interactions and addressing complaints.
  • Provide clear and concise communication on progress and activities.
  • Handle customer complaints through resolution and share insights for improvement.
  • Demonstrate strong negotiation skills and professionalism in all interactions.
  • Ensure documentation is updated and audit-ready per company procedures.
  • Control project execution plans and deliver structured updates to clients.
  • Monitor risks, program, quality, and cost to ensure successful outcomes.
  • Adhere to project governance and company policies.

Skills & Experience:

  • Minimum 5 years of site management experience.
  • Sound knowledge of social housing and construction industries.
  • Experience with planned works programs and maintenance projects.
  • Familiarity with section 20 leaseholder consultation and housing legislation.
  • Proficiency in communication across diverse stakeholders.
  • Track record of successful complaint resolution.

Qualifications:

  • Valid SMSTS qualification.
  • CSCS card in site management.
  • NVQ level 6 in site management/construction (Desirable).
  • Recognized building/trade qualification.
  • Asbestos Awareness Certification.
  • Current valid driving license.
  • Qualifications or experience in Fire Assessment surveying and remedial works (Desirable).
