Assistant Facilities Manager – Glasgow

We are currently seeking an Assistant Facilities Manager to join the Facilities Management team for my client in their Glasgow office on a temporary basis to cover a period of long-term sickness absence.

This is a fantastic opportunity for an experienced facilities professional looking to work within a prestigious corporate environment. The successful candidate will support the day-to-day operation of the site, ensuring a safe, efficient, and high-quality workplace experience for staff and visitors.

Key Responsibilities

• Conduct regular health and safety inspections and maintain compliance standards.
• Manage and supervise on-site contractors, ensuring works are carried out safely and effectively.
• Monitor reactive maintenance requests and ensure completion within agreed service level agreements (SLAs).
• Coordinate deliveries and oversee site logistics.
• Manage incoming and outgoing mailroom operations.
• Support meeting room and event space setups in line with client requirements.
• Undertake general facilities and manual handling duties as required.
• Act as Fire Marshal and First Aider when required.
• Provide a professional front-of-house service, welcoming staff and visitors.
• Programme and issue staff and visitor access cards.
• Investigate, resolve, and escalate facilities-related issues where appropriate.
• Assist in maintaining a safe, compliant, and well-presented working environment.

Requirements

• Previous experience within Facilities Management, Workplace Services, or Building Management.
• Strong knowledge of Health & Safety procedures and workplace compliance.
• Experience managing contractors and coordinating maintenance activities.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills.
• Customer-focused approach with the ability to build relationships at all levels.
• Competent IT skills and experience using FM systems would be advantageous.
• Fire Marshal and First Aid qualifications are desirable but not essential.
