We are currently recruiting for an established Social Housing contractor with a strong presence across the Midlands, supporting a growing pipeline of projects across refurbishment, maintenance, repairs and wider construction.

This is a great opportunity for an Estimator who enjoys being involved from the initial tender through to handover, working closely with operational, commercial, procurement and supply chain teams to produce accurate and commercially competitive bids.

The role

As an Estimator, you will be responsible for producing detailed and accurate estimates across a range of projects, analysing tender information and developing competitive pricing strategies.

You’ll be involved in:

  • Preparing detailed estimates covering labour, materials, plant, subcontractors, preliminaries and overheads

  • Reviewing drawings, specifications, schedules and tender documentation

  • Identifying commercial risks, opportunities and potential value engineering solutions

  • Obtaining and analysing quotations from suppliers and subcontractors

  • Developing competitive and commercially viable pricing

  • Supporting tender review meetings and presenting pricing information to key stakeholders

  • Responding to tender queries and supporting post-tender negotiations

  • Supporting the successful handover of secured projects to the delivery team

What we’re looking for

We’re interested in speaking to experienced Estimators who have worked within social housing, refurbishment or maintenance.

Ideally, you’ll have experience of:

  • Preparing estimates and tenders within a contractor environment

  • Working from drawings, specifications, schedules and Bills of Quantities

  • Obtaining and assessing subcontractor and supplier quotations

  • Understanding construction methods, labour, materials and associated costs

  • Using Excel and estimating / cost management systems

  • Managing multiple tenders and deadlines

  • Working closely with operational and commercial teams

Knowledge of NHF Schedule of Rates / SOR, frameworks or pricing works within occupied properties would also be advantageous.
