Domestic Gas Engineer – Social Housing
Location: West London & Surrounding Areas
Salary: £40,000–£44,000 per annum, depending on experience
Contract: Full-Time, Permanent
Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday
Company Van & Fuel Card Provided
Call-Out Rota: 1 in 3
We are currently recruiting for an experienced Domestic Gas Engineer to join an established social housing and maintenance team, carrying out gas servicing, repairs and maintenance across occupied social housing properties throughout London and surrounding areas.
This is an excellent opportunity for a qualified Gas Engineer looking for a secure, permanent position with a consistent workload, company vehicle and additional earning potential through call-outs.
The Role
You will be responsible for completing a range of domestic gas, heating and associated plumbing works, ensuring all work is carried out safely, efficiently and in line with relevant standards.
Duties will include:
- Servicing and maintaining domestic boilers and heating systems
- Carrying out CP12 / Landlord Gas Safety Checks
- Diagnosing and repairing boiler and heating faults
- Fault finding on heating controls, pumps, valves and associated components
- Carrying out boiler replacements and heating installations
- Completing heating upgrades and remedial works
- Investigating heating and hot-water breakdowns
- Carrying out associated plumbing repairs
- Identifying unsafe appliances and following the correct procedures
- Completing accurate job records, certification and photographs
- Using PDA/job-management systems
- Working professionally within occupied properties
- Providing excellent customer service to residents
- Maintaining clean, safe and tidy working areas
Working Hours & Call-Out
Standard Hours: 8:00am–5:00pm, Monday–Friday
Call-Out Rota: 1 in 3
Call-Out Payments:
- £120 standby
- £30 per call-out
The call-out rota provides an excellent opportunity to increase your overall earnings.
Coverage Area
The role will cover properties across:
UB HA NW SW EC W
You will be working across a variety of social housing properties throughout London and surrounding areas.
Requirements
- Current Gas Safe registration
- Relevant domestic ACS qualifications, including CCN1 and CENWAT
- HTR1, CKR1 and MET1 where applicable
- Proven domestic gas servicing, repair and fault-finding experience
- Experience with boiler replacements and central-heating systems
- Experience completing CP12/Landlord Gas Safety Records
- G3 Unvented Hot Water qualification desirable
- Full UK driving licence
- No more than 6 points on licence – speeding points only
- All own tools required
- Strong communication and customer service skills
- Professional approach when working in residents’ homes

Social Housing Experience
Previous experience working within social housing, housing associations, local authorities, council properties or domestic maintenance is highly desirable.
You will be working directly in residents’ homes, so a professional approach and strong customer service skills are essential.
