Multi-Trade Operative – Response Repairs

Location: Hemel Hempstead
Salary: £36,000 per annum Company Van & Fuel Card

About the Role

My client is a leading provider of property maintenance and retrofit services, delivering high-quality solutions across social housing and residential sectors. Due to continued growth, they are seeking an experienced Multi-Trade Operative with strong carpentry and plumbing expertise to join their responsive repairs team.

As a key member of the team, you will play a vital role in delivering high-quality repairs and maintenance, with a core focus on carpentry and plumbing works, while also supporting across other trades as required.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out a wide range of maintenance and repair works, with a primary focus on carpentry and plumbing
• Complete plumbing tasks including repairs to pipework, taps, toilets, leaks, and minor drainage issues
• Undertake carpentry works such as door repairs, kitchen unit installation, skirting, and general joinery
• Diagnose faults and determine effective repair solutions across multiple trades
• Support with additional multi-trade works including plastering, tiling, and decorating
• Respond to reactive maintenance requests in both occupied and void properties
• Ensure all work is completed efficiently with minimal disruption to residents
• Maintain high levels of customer service when working in tenants’ homes
• Adhere to all health & safety regulations and company procedures
• Accurately record completed works and maintain job documentation

Requirements

• Proven experience as a Multi-Trade Operative, with strong carpentry and plumbing skills
• Ability to carry out both first and second fix carpentry and a range of plumbing repairs confidently
• Experience in social housing or residential maintenance (desirable)
• Good all-round knowledge of additional trades (plastering, tiling, decorating)
• Strong problem-solving skills and attention to detail
• Good communication and customer service skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
