Multi-Trade / Damp & Mould Operative – Response Repairs

 Location: Hemel Hempstead (Contract Area)
 Salary: £36,000 per annum Company Van & Fuel Card
 Job Type: Permanent, Full-Time

About the Role

We are currently recruiting for an experienced Multi-Trade / Damp & Mould Operative to join a growing maintenance team delivering works across social housing and residential properties.

This is a varied role combining damp & mould treatment with general multi-trade repairs, ideal for someone with a strong maintenance background and experience working in occupied homes.

Key Responsibilities

• Inspect properties to identify causes of damp and mould, including condensation, leaks, and penetrating damp
• Carry out mould treatments, stain blocking, and apply anti-mould coatings
• Complete ventilation improvements such as installing vents and improving airflow
• Undertake multi-trade repairs including plastering, painting, basic carpentry, and general maintenance
• Carry out responsive repairs in occupied and void properties, ensuring minimal disruption
• Provide tenants with advice on preventing damp and mould recurrence
• Ensure all works are completed in line with health & safety regulations and company standards
• Accurately record job details using PDA/handheld systems

Requirements

• Proven experience in damp & mould treatment and/or multi-trade maintenance
• Good understanding of damp causes and remedial solutions
• Experience within social housing or residential environments preferred
• Ability to carry out a range of trades to a good standard
• Strong customer service and communication skills
• Full UK driving licence (essential)
