Our client, a reputable civil engineering contractor based near Exeter, is seeking an enthusiastic Assistant Buyer to support their busy commercial and project delivery teams. This is a fantastic opportunity for someone with early experience in buying or procurement who’s eager to progress within the construction industry.

Key Responsibilities

• Assisting with the procurement of materials, plant, and subcontractor services.

• Supporting senior buyers with tendering, cost comparisons, and order placement.

• Maintaining supplier databases and tracking deliveries.

• Helping to ensure materials arrive on site on time and within budget.

• Liaising with project teams to understand site requirements.

• Contributing to sustainable and cost-effective procurement solutions.

Requirements

• Some experience in buying or procurement, ideally within construction or civil engineering.

• Strong organisational and communication skills.

• Confident with Microsoft Office and procurement systems.

• Eager to learn and develop within a supportive team.

• Full UK driving licence preferred.
