Build Recruitment are currently seeking a qualified Electrician specialising in Solar Photovoltaic (SPV) systems to join our client’s renewable energy team. This role focuses on the design, installation, and maintenance of solar photovoltaic systems in line with PAS2030/35 standards.

The ideal candidate will have strong technical expertise, a commitment to safety, and experience working on rooftop and renewable energy projects.

Key ResponsibilitiesSolar Photovoltaic (SPV) Installation

• Install and commission solar photovoltaic systems, including inverters, wiring, and associated electrical components, ensuring full compliance with PAS2030/35 standards.

• Perform electrical connections and integrate systems effectively with the property’s existing electrical infrastructure.

System Design and Planning

• Assist in the design and layout of photovoltaic systems to maximise efficiency and energy generation.

• Carry out site surveys to assess suitability for SPV installations, considering roof structure, shading, and electrical configurations.

Safety Compliance

• Adhere to rooftop safety protocols and all working-at-height regulations.

• Conduct risk assessments and implement appropriate safety measures for all installation and maintenance activities.

Maintenance and Troubleshooting

• Diagnose, repair, and maintain existing photovoltaic systems to ensure optimal performance.

• Undertake routine system checks and preventive maintenance to uphold efficiency and reliability.

Regulatory Compliance

• Ensure all works comply with UK electrical standards, including Part P and Building Regulations.

• Maintain compliance with PAS2030:2019 and other relevant industry certifications and standards.

Collaboration and Communication

• Work collaboratively with other trades, engineers, and project teams to achieve project goals.

• Liaise with clients to provide system demonstrations, technical guidance, and professional support.

Skills, Experience & Qualifications

• NVQ Level 3 (or equivalent) in Electrical Installation.

• 18th Edition Wiring Regulations qualification.

• Experience with Solar PV installation, testing, and commissioning.

• Knowledge of PAS2030/35 standards and renewable energy systems.

• Strong diagnostic and problem-solving skills.

• Excellent communication and teamwork abilities.

• Full, clean UK driving licence.
