Overview

Build Recruitment is currently seeking an experienced and highly skilled Project Manager to lead and oversee construction projects from start to finish. In this role, you will be responsible for ensuring safety, efficiency, and adherence to budget while promoting a positive health and safety culture. We are looking for a dynamic leader with excellent communication and organisational skills, and a commitment to delivering exceptional results. You will be working on Social Housing Planned Works projects in the North East, managing costs, promoting health and safety, and exceeding client expectations.

Daily Responsibilities

  • Operational Oversight

    As the Project Manager, you will be responsible for managing all aspects of the project, from planning to completion. Your primary focus will be on promoting a positive health and safety culture while ensuring the project runs smoothly and efficiently.

  • Project Planning

    Your strategic planning skills will be put to the test as you create and implement a comprehensive plan for the project. This will include scheduling and coordinating all necessary resources to ensure timely completion.

  • Construction Management

    Supervising on-site activities will be a crucial part of your role. You will need to ensure that all work is completed efficiently and in accordance with project plans and specifications.

  • Safety Management

    The safety of our team is of utmost importance, and as the Project Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring on-site safety. This will involve conducting regular risk assessments and enforcing all safety procedures and protocols.

  • Relationship Building

    Building and maintaining strong relationships with key contacts will be essential in this role. You will be responsible for providing regular updates and progress reports to keep everyone informed and on track.

  • Staff Management

    As a leader, you will be responsible for overseeing and developing the reporting staff. Your guidance and support will help them achieve their full potential and contribute to the success of the project.

Experience / Skills

We are looking for a candidate with:

  • Construction Knowledge

    The successful candidate will have a thorough understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and legal guidelines.

  • Organisational Skills

    Your excellent organisational skills will be put to the test as you effectively manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects simultaneously.

  • Problem Solving

    We are seeking a candidate with a proven track record of utilising initiative, logical thinking, and problem-solving skills to overcome challenges and achieve project goals.

  • Time Management

    Excellent time management and leadership skills are essential for this role. You must be able to prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively.

  • Communication

    Your strong written and verbal communication skills will be crucial in this role, as you will be required to effectively convey information to a variety of audiences.

  • Financial Awareness

    The successful candidate will have demonstrated financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to make informed decisions and manage project budgets effectively.

  • Qualifications

    SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and CSCS Card are required for this position.

Requirements

The successful candidate will have:

  • Experience / Skills

    A minimum of 5 years experience in project management, preferably in the construction industry

    A strong understanding of construction processes, building regulations, and legal guidelines

    Excellent organisational skills with the ability to manage and prioritise multiple tasks and projects simultaneously

    Proven problem-solving skills and the ability to utilise initiative and logical thinking to overcome challenges

    Excellent time management and leadership skills, with the ability to prioritise tasks and delegate responsibilities effectively

    Strong written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to effectively convey information to a variety of audiences

    Demonstrated financial and commercial awareness, with the ability to make informed decisions and manage project budgets effectively

    A valid SMSTS, First Aid at Work, and CSCS Card
