We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mobile Plumber to cover Southampton and nearby areas, working on a variety of commercial and domestic properties. This is a mobile role, and you’ll be provided with a company van and fuel card to ensure you can perform your duties efficiently. The successful candidate will have a strong background in plumbing, excellent problem-solving skills, and the ability to work independently while maintaining high standards.
Key Responsibilities:
- Carry out plumbing installations, repairs, and maintenance across commercial and domestic properties, including pipework, fixtures, and heating systems.
- Diagnose and resolve plumbing issues such as leaks, blockages, and system failures promptly and effectively.
- Perform routine inspections and preventative maintenance to ensure plumbing systems operate efficiently.
- Respond to emergency call-outs and provide out-of-hours support when required (on a rota basis).
- Work on a range of systems, including hot and cold water supplies, drainage, and sanitation.
- Liaise with clients to explain work carried out, ensuring excellent customer service.
- Complete job reports and maintain accurate records of work performed.
- Adhere to health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- NVQ Level 2 or 3 in Plumbing (or equivalent qualification, e.g., City & Guilds).
- Significant experience (minimum 5+ years) as a plumber, with a proven track record in both commercial and domestic settings.
- Strong knowledge of plumbing systems, including installation, maintenance, and repair techniques.
- Experience working in a mobile role or covering multiple sites.
- Full UK driving licence (clean preferred).
Desirable Skills:
- Gas Safe registration or additional qualifications (e.g., unvented hot water systems) are a plus.
- Basic knowledge of other trades (e.g., heating or drainage) is advantageous.
- Familiarity with commercial plumbing systems such as booster pumps or large-scale pipework.
Personal Attributes:
- Highly skilled and confident in diagnosing and resolving complex plumbing issues.
- Excellent time management and the ability to prioritize tasks effectively.
- Strong communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
- Self-motivated with the ability to work independently in a mobile capacity.
Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (37.5 hours per week).
- Flexibility required for occasional overtime or emergency call-outs (compensated accordingly).
