We are looking for a fully qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer with extensive experience in mechanical maintenance and a valid F-Gas certification. This role is critical to maintaining and optimizing our mechanical systems, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with industry standards. The successful candidate will be a proactive problem-solver with a strong technical background and a commitment to delivering high-quality work.
Key Responsibilities:
- Perform routine and preventative maintenance on a wide range of mechanical systems, including HVAC, refrigeration units, pumps, compressors, and other industrial equipment.
- Diagnose and repair faults in mechanical systems to minimize downtime and ensure operational continuity.
- Handle refrigerant systems in compliance with F-Gas regulations, including installation, maintenance, and leak detection.
- Conduct inspections and testing of equipment to ensure optimal performance and adherence to safety standards.
- Collaborate with the engineering team to plan and execute maintenance schedules and upgrades.
- Respond promptly to emergency breakdowns and implement effective solutions under pressure.
- Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, including work logs, parts used, and compliance documentation.
- Ensure all work is carried out in line with health, safety, and environmental regulations.
- Assist in the installation and commissioning of new mechanical systems as required.
- Provide technical guidance and support to junior team members when necessary.
Essential Qualifications & Experience:
- Fully qualified Mechanical Maintenance Engineer (e.g., NVQ Level 3, City & Guilds, or equivalent in Mechanical Engineering).
- Valid F-Gas Category 1 Certification (handling refrigerants).
- Extensive experience (minimum 5+ years) in mechanical maintenance within an industrial or commercial environment.
- Proven expertise in maintaining HVAC systems, refrigeration units, and other mechanical equipment.
- Strong fault-finding and diagnostic skills with the ability to work on complex systems.
- Familiarity with health and safety regulations, including risk assessments and safe working practices.
- Full UK driving license (preferred, if applicable).
Desirable Skills:
- Experience with PLC systems and basic electrical knowledge is an advantage.
- Ability to read and interpret technical drawings and schematics.
- Previous experience in a fast-paced, deadline-driven environment.

Working Hours:
- Monday to Friday, 8:00 AM – 4:30 PM (37.5 hours per week).
- Occasional overtime or on-call availability may be required depending on operational needs (to be discussed at interview stage).
